Today we have an in-store item which is my personal all-time favorite 'cheat meal.'
Calories: 380
Protein: 35g
Carbohydrates: 16g
Fat: 9g
Pros: This is the tastiest guilty pleasure item I expect will ever be on our blog. It is an in-store item, so there is no preparation. It is incredibly satiating and will leave you wholly satisfied. Finally, it is probably the highest ratio of protein to calories you can find in the unhealthiest tiers of fast food. Bonus: if you prefer the spicy breast, you can still order the mild (less calories than the in-store spicy variant) and combine it with zero calorie hot-sauce and a coke zero.
Cons: Price. It's probably the most expensive individual item on the Popeyes menu, 6-7 pieces will run you about $23 Canadian. Fat. It is deep-fried chicken breast. No matter how great it is on the whole, at its core it is still a food that could be bad for your arteries and heart in the long run; even if it doesn't cross over your caloric thresholds. Bonus: this is a great cheat meal that will not send you over your caloric limit, will keep you satiated and satisfied, and - being a cheat meal - won't get old for you.
