CoolWay Vanilla Bean Ice Cream!

Hello Dear Readers,

Today I want to share one of my absolute favorite guilty pleasure food items. The best part about this item is how much of the guilt CoolWay has managed to skim off of its product.

This is by far the most nutritious ice cream I have eaten. It's also decent tasting by normal ice cream standards.

The macros:

  • Serving Size: 125mL (4 servings per tub)

  • Calories: 80 unites

  • Protein: 7g

  • Carbs: 13g

  • Fat: 2g

The pros of this choice are quite simple. It's ice cream, it tastes great. It, like all items we release on Wednesdays, is a in-store item; that means no prep required. Nutritionally it has almost the same protein to calorie ratio as an egg, with an even lower protein to fat ratio. Finally, it's quite dense, and leaves you feeling satisfied after you've finished a serving (or three). Toss some of this into a protein smoothie, guilt-free.

The cons are pretty reasonable regarding this item as well. It leverages artificial sweeteners. There are many opinions on the internet regarding the safety of such sweeteners. The ambiguity of consensus on this subject results in my considering artificial sweeteners a point of wariness towards all products that use them. Another con is that you cannot eat too much of this ice cream, as is the case with all dairy; the digestive repercussions are not worth it. At most, I've eaten two tubs in a single day. Finally, the cost is $6.50 per tub, which can add up quickly.

With all that said, CoolWay Ice Cream is still great at providing you with nutrition like few other dessert options can. The cons of the product are only relevant in so far as you eat it all the time.
